Digital sustainability

As part of the 2026–27 SSHRC-funded project, “Static Websites for Sustainable Knowledge Mobilization,” we are currently considering questions around digital sustainability for humanities research.

DHSI-Montreal, June 2027

In June 2027 we will be presenting a course at the DHSI-Montreal on transforming websites for long-term preservation. Building upon the work of the Endings Project, this course will review the steps needed to end and archive digital projects, with an introduction to available tools that can transform various existing types of scholarly websites into “static” websites that are more easily maintained and are less resource-intensive.
